Collection: All Teas - Chás

It is on the north coast of the island of São Miguel, in the Azores archipelago, that the only tea plantations in Europe dedicated to industrial production are located.

For a long time, tea was used only as an ornamental plant, but in 1878, at the initiative of the Sociedade Promotora da Agricultura Micaelense, two Chinese experts arrived in São Miguel to teach the industrial processing of tea.
